{"id":16117,"date":"2014-01-28T11:05:33","date_gmt":"2014-01-28T05:35:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/news.entecity.com\/?p=16117"},"modified":"2014-01-28T11:05:33","modified_gmt":"2014-01-28T05:35:33","slug":"trivandrum-new-delhi-dreamliner-service-within-2-months","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/entecity.com\/news\/trivandrum-new-delhi-dreamliner-service-within-2-months\/","title":{"rendered":"Trivandrum-New Delhi Dreamliner Service within 2 months"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>#EnteThiruvananthapuram:<\/strong> Air India has decided to start Boeing 787 Dreamliner service between New Delhi and Trivandrum in two months.\u00a0 The plan to start the Dreamliner service to Trivandrum was informed by Rajya Sabha MP K N Balagopal, who was in the city last Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Air India management has assured us that they would begin a service from New Delhi to Kerala in April,&#8221; the MP said. Trivandrum to New Delhi is a long haul flight, but the Air India chose to fly on other routes such as Chennai, Bangalore and Kolkata. &#8220;I wanted to know why Air India did not consider flying the Dreamliner to Kerala, especially as the flights to New Delhi are always full.&#8221; the Minister adds.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Air India joint managing director Syed Nasir Ali said To TOI that Air India did not prefer flying domestic routes and the only reason why it flew to Chennai, Bangalore and Kolkata was because pilots needed to be trained on the new aircraft. He also said that, flying to Trivandrum and then on to the Gulf sector, will be a very economical route. Meanwhile, Air India also promised to extend its New Delhi-Kochi flight to Trivandrum International Airport.<\/p>\n<p>Boeing 787 Dreamliner is the first mid-size airplane capable of flying long-range routes. The flight has a total of 238 seats in the Economy class and 18 seats in the Business class. It has a total payload capacity of 39.4 tons. Boeing has currently delivered 10 of the 27 Dreamliners ordered by Air India.
