The shop which is named \u2018<strong>Curio Corner<\/strong>\u2019 will be inaugurated next week as said by the University officials. By this, Kerala University is all set to become the first University in Kerala to have a souvenir shop!<\/p>\n<p>As per the sources, the idea of setting up a souvenir shop was suggested by a Syndicate member of university Dr Asha Latha, as majority of universities outside Kerala have their own. The project was announced in 2012-2013 budget and was granted Rs 5 lakh fund for its completion. \u2018<strong>Aranmula kannadi<\/strong>\u2019, T-shirts with the university emblem, notebooks, diaries, pens, pen stands, paper weights, file boards, tea cups, handmade collections etc will be sold here.<\/p>\n<p>A section of the shop will feature eco-friendly items. Handicraft items will be supplied by Handicraft corporation, Kudumbasree units etc. Books published by University and paper bags from Gandhian Study Centre will also feature in the shop.
