By limiting the number of seats and providing excellent service, Multiplexes are getting huge profit. As moviegoers demands high quality service for the money they pay, age-old theatres have no choice but to upgrade to multiplex level.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Also Read:<\/strong>\u00a0<a title=\"\u2018Beanie Plex\u2019- The theatre of the future?\" href=\"http:\/\/news.entecity.com\/beanie-plex-the-theatre-of-the-future\/\" target=\"_blank\">\u2018Beanie Plex\u2019- The theatre of the future?<\/a><\/p>\n<p>First theatre in the city to start this trend was <a href=\"http:\/\/movies.entecity.com\/theatre\/sree-padmanabha\/\" target=\"_blank\">Sree Padmanabha Theatre<\/a>. Soon government owned theatres <a href=\"http:\/\/movies.entecity.com\/theatre\/kalabhavan\/\" target=\"_blank\">Kalabhavan<\/a> and Kairali-Sree-Nila complex followed. Even though the ticket price is higher in these theatres, they are financially successful. This prompted other private theatre owners in the city to renovate their screens.<\/p>\n<p>Currently 7 new theatres are coming up in Trivandrum. Two screens are coming up at the new KSRTC Bus Terminal Complex at Thampanoor. Meanwhile, three multiplex screens are under construction in the <a href=\"http:\/\/movies.entecity.com\/theatre\/new-theatre\/\" target=\"_blank\">New Theatre<\/a>, which was once the largest theatre in the city. Muthoot owned <a href=\"http:\/\/movies.entecity.com\/theatre\/kripa\/\" target=\"_blank\">Kripa Theatre<\/a> is developing a duplex screen by converting the existing theatre.
