{"id":16454,"date":"2014-02-10T13:20:08","date_gmt":"2014-02-10T07:50:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/news.entecity.com\/?p=16454"},"modified":"2014-02-10T13:20:08","modified_gmt":"2014-02-10T07:50:08","slug":"kerala-to-witness-rs2000-crore-investment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/entecity.com\/news\/kerala-to-witness-rs2000-crore-investment\/","title":{"rendered":"Kerala to witness Rs2000 crore investment!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>#Kerala<\/strong><\/em>: \u00a0Cities in the state are going to witness a massive growth in infrastructure in the coming years as Urban Affairs Department is launching an initiative to seek partners for development projects.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative called \u2018Partner Kerala\u2019 Urban Development Meet which is going to be held in Kochi on February 24 and 25 aims to attract investments worth Rs 2,000 crore. Through public-private partnership (PPP) model, the government plans to launch over 100 mega urban development programs in all the major cities in the state.<\/p>\n<p>The biggest challenge faced by the local civic bodies today is the lack of funds to upgrade and modernise infrastructure. Partner Kerala aims to solve this problem by providing e resources to cash-these strapped corporations and municipalities.<\/p>\n<p>More than hundreds of potential investors from within the country and abroad are expected to take part in the event. \u2018Partner Kerala\u2019 Urban Development Meet will provide investment opportunities in projects such as waste management, sewerage, comfort stations, markets, flyovers, bridges, parking lots and bus terminals. Shopping Mall, Multiplex halls, Convention Centres, City beautification projects, Amusement parks and bus terminals will also be showcased at the meet.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the proposed projects for the \u2018Partner Kerala\u2019 Urban Development Meet include Trivandrum Development Authority\u2019s Palayam Area Development at Rs 230 crore, Greater Cochin Development Authority\u2019s shopping malls at Manapattiparambu at Rs 182 crore, City Centre project of the Kochi Corporation at Kacheripady at Rs 55 crore, Thrissur Corporation\u2019s development of Sakthan Nagar at an estimate of Rs700 crore, Calicut Development Authority\u2019s Palayam Area Re-Development at Rs 865.6 crore etc.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>#Kerala: \u00a0Cities in the state are going to witness a massive growth in infrastructure in the coming years as Urban Affairs Department is launching an initiative to seek partners for development projects.
