The decision came as a relief to 240 families living in the Valiyasala area.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a title=\"Monorail: NH-66 to have 24meters Width\" href=\"http:\/\/news.entecity.com\/monorail-nh-66-to-have-24meters-width\/\">Monorail: NH-66 to have 24meters Width<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Earlier, the residents&#8217; association in the area has approached DMRC to change the alignment of the MRTS so that the Valiyasala Street would be spared from the Monorail project which is laid from <a title=\"TechnoCity \u2013 The future belongs here?\" href=\"http:\/\/news.entecity.com\/technocity-the-future-belongs-here\/\" target=\"_blank\">TechnoCity <\/a>to Karamana.<\/p>\n<p>NATPAC has conducted a new feasibility study in this regard. According to the new study, Monorail will pass from Thampanoor to Killipalam over the flyover. Since two pillars have to be erected on the land owned by the railway, the project needs the approval from the Railway. NATPAC recommended completing the project in two phases- first phase which starts from Pallipuram to Thampanoor and second phase which extends from Thampanoor. However, DMRC suggested to complete the work in a single phase.<\/p>\n<p>According to the previous plan, Monorail will pass from Thampanoor near the Thycaud Hospital area and cut through the railway lines to reach Killipalam through the 250-metre Valiyasala Street. For this, centuries-old agraharams have to be demolished.
