Kerala police<\/a> has revamped the\u00a0Virtual queue<\/strong>\u00a0or the\u00a0e-Queue<\/strong>\u00a0booking system at Sabarimala<\/strong>. The booking for virtual Q for this season will start from the first week of October. Virtual Q was first launched in 2011 to control and streamline the devotees coming to Sabarimala. This virtual queue system will allow the pilgrims to reserve their place in the queue at specified hour on any day. They can also choose the date and time of joining the queue. The system works on a \u2018First Come First Serve\u2019 basis.<\/p>\n

Kerala Police has improved the website and application software. The multi-language web portal<\/a> will be in ‘Cloud environment’ and booking can be done via\u00a0www.sabarimalaq.com<\/a><\/span>. Pilgrims from all over the world can avail this facility through this portal. The website will have more information, features and other guidelines which are very helpful to the pilgrims coming to Sabarimala<\/span>.<\/p>\n

People can reserve their queue 6 to 8 weeks in advance. Pilgrims have to enter their name, age, address, a recent photograph and proof of identity etc. From the available time slots, pilgrims can choose their convenient date and time of Darshan. After everything is complete, users have to download and print their coupons. The printed coupon will contain all the details of the registered pilgrims including their photographs and a barcode. Devotees are required to carry these coupons and a proof of identify which can be a Driver\u2019s License or Voters ID card, during their pilgrimage. People have to produce the printed coupon and proof of identity at \u2018Queue verification counters\u2019 that are made exclusively for the Virtual Queue System at Pampa. Only pilgrims with verified coupons are allowed to enter the Virtual queue system that starts from Pampa to Sannidhanam. People coming through virtual queue are allowed to join the queue at Nadapanthal.<\/p>\n

Kerala Police designed the Virtual Queue system<\/em> as a part of crowd management. Virtual queue system allows the people to save their precious time and provide a hassle free darshan at Sabarimala. Virtual Queue system<\/strong> is made available to public free of cost. The program is funded by the Advertisement revenue, permitted by the\u00a0Government of Kerala.<\/strong>\u00a0For those people who don\u2019t want the virtual queue system can take the conventional queue system as in the previous years.<\/p>\n
