With an aim to bring solace and hope to those who have successfully battled cancer, a youth movement organization in Kerala would launch a matrimonial website exclusively for cancer survivors.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The initiative taken by the St George Orthodox Youth Movement, under the St Mary’s Orthodox Parish church is the first of its kind in the country. The website titled www.insightmatrimony.com<\/a> will help cancer survivors to search suitable brides and grooms. \u00a0Anyone who is aged between 20 to 35 and has recovered from the disease can register with the portal free of cost.<\/p>\n

“There is a tendency in our society to keep cancer patients at a distance. Even after they pull through and come to lead a normal life after treatment, often they continue to be looked at as patients, not as normal human beings,<\/em>” the coordinator of the programme, Nithin Chacko Thomas said in a press release.<\/p>\n

This attitude even denies them chances of getting married and leading a normal life. All recovered patients, irrespective of their family and financial background, face this problem. The makers behind the website say such problems would not arise if their partners were also well aware of the disease.<\/p>\n

The Youth Movement organization which has a total strength of 40 members has spent Rs 1lkah in developing the website. The website will be launched on March 9 by Additional Director General of Police K Padmakumar.<\/p>\n

The matrimony website hopes to bring cancer survivors to the mainstream society and help them lead normal family life.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
