Recently, Boeing has launched a \u2018Mission Impossible\u2019 style smartphone that can self-destruct.<\/p>\n<p>Called as the &#8216;Boeing Black&#8217;, the smartphone will automatically delete data in less than 30 seconds and renders itself inoperable if an embedded technology detects that the phone is being tampered with. There won\u2019t be any smoke or explosions as shown in the film but the contents of the phone will be completely erased.<\/p>\n<p>The Boeing Black phone is manufactured as a sealed device with the help of (extremely strong glue) epoxy around the casing and with screws. The heads are covered with tamper-proof seal to identify attempted dismantling.<\/p>\n<p>Boeing Black runs on heavily-customised version of Google&#8217;s Android operating system and Boeing has added its own security apps. The Black sports a 4.3 inch qHD display with 540X960 pixels and is powered by a Dual 1.2GHz ARM Cortex-A9 CPU. The phone weighs 170g and contains two SIM card slot to enable it to access multiple cell networks.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-17136\" alt=\"Boeing Black Secure Phone\" src=\"http:\/\/news.entecity.com\/files\/2014\/03\/Boeing-Black-secure-phone-452x513.jpg\" width=\"452\" height=\"513\" srcset=\"https:\/\/entecity.com\/news\/files\/2014\/03\/Boeing-Black-secure-phone-452x513.jpg 452w, https:\/\/entecity.com\/news\/files\/2014\/03\/Boeing-Black-secure-phone.jpg 460w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 452px) 100vw, 452px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The device can operate on the WCDMA, GSM and LTE frequency bands and offers Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. Boeing says the phone can be configured to connect with biometric sensors or satellites. Other attachment can extend battery life or use solar power. Like the Geeksphone, Boeing Black will also make encrypted phone calls, send encrypted texts and browse the web anonymously.<\/p>\n<p>Boeing&#8217;s Black is not intended for mainstream use and does not yet have a price or release date.
