HTC has launched its latest flagship smartphone, the HTC One M8<\/strong>. The smartphone is slightly wider and heavier than last year’s HTC One<\/a>.<\/p>\n

HTC\u2019s new One might look a great deal like its predecessor. The device is debuting in \u2018Gunmetal Gray,\u2019 \u2018Glacial Silver,\u2019 and \u2018Amber Gold,\u2019 with a uni-body all-metal design. The new M8 sports a 5-inch Super LCD 3 display with full HD 1080p resolution at 440 pixels-per-inch (ppi) and a Gorilla Glass 3 cover.<\/p>\n

The Asia model of HTC One M8 is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.5Ghz and has a memory of 2GB DDR2 RAM.\u00a0 The phone is available in 16GB or 32GB variant and the memory can be expanded to 128GB using microSD card storage. The phone comes with a 2600mAh battery. HTC One M8 runs on the latest Android 4.4 KitKat with a brand new Sense 6 UI on top, which HTC is calling the biggest upgrade since Sense debuted.<\/p>\n

The highlight of the HTC One (M8) is its ‘Ultrapixel Dual Camera’. The primary camera has HTC\u2019s UltraPixel module with 2.0 um pixels and a 1\/3-inch sensor, shooting at f\/2.0 with a 28mm lens. The secondary rear-facing lens record a lot of information about depth related to scenes it captures, and that allows for advanced special effects.<\/p>\n

The HTC Camera Software has also been revamped to add a variety of effects such as UFocus to refocus an image after it is captured, bokeh for background blurring, like a DSLR and \u201cDimension Plus,\u201d to add 3D effects that pans around as you tilt the phone.<\/p>\n

The software features include a new \u201cSensor Hub\u201d to track user’s movement to count steps and to allow variety of motion, tap and swipe gestures even when the phone’s display is off. Another exciting feature is the \u201cextreme power saving mode,\u201d that allows phone to last for 15 hours with 5% battery charge.<\/p>\n
