Kerala’s first radio-taxi service ‘Taxio<\/a>‘ has been launched in Kochi<\/strong>, offering tension-free rides through the streets of Kochi. After four months of trial run, the service is being launched with a fleet of more than hundred cars. “A ride in Taxio gives you a whole different experience which no other ordinary modes of travel can give” Says Taxio Managing Director Vijay Nair<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The service is just a phone call away. You can dial 444 0 444<\/strong> from anywhere in the city and can be sure that the car reaches you within 10 minutes. The charges are quite reasonable and vary according to the distance and time. Minimum charge fixed is 90 rupees and if within city limits, no return fare will be charged. The customer can confirm the rates before availing the service also.<\/p>\n

Every taxi is installed with GPS system so that it can be tracked any time from the centralized control centre. The whole details about the taxi engaged are available at the control centre any time.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Drivers in the vicinity are contacted by an Automatic messaging system and once the passenger reaches the destination, the taxi will remain there until there is a next call. “This way, wastage of fuel, traffic blocks and environmental pollutions can be minimized” Says Taxio Marketing Manager Adarsh Unnithan.<\/p>\n

Taxio is the brain child of a group of professionally qualified youngsters. Apart from Vijay and Adarsh, other members of the venture include Anjana Balachandran, Sandeep Bhaskar, KK Peethambaran, Suresh Babu, Noufal and Nazar.<\/p>\n

Taxio makes use of latest technology for providing safe and economic travel. Every taxi is installed with GPS system so that it can be tracked any time from the centralized control centre. The whole details about the taxi engaged are available at the control centre any time. One can also track the location of the moving taxi online on the website of Taxio. This is really helpful for parents who have engaged Taxio for sending their children somewhere. In case of accident or if the car breaks down, passenger or driver can press the emergency button and another cab will reach the spot in minutes.<\/p>\n
