The Airports Authority of India has decided to provide free Wi-Fi access to the passengers arriving at the new terminal.<\/p>\n<p>When the service becomes operational, passengers can use any Wi-Fi enabled device to connect including laptop, smartphone or tablet. This will be beneficial to International passengers as they can make international calls using services such as Skype and Viber.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The AAI has decided to provide passengers with Wi-Fi facilities immediately at its cost. But there are some issues, such as providing free internet access, that need to be addressed&#8221; said airport director V N Chandran to TOI.<\/p>\n<p>How the free Wi-Fi access will be implemented is yet to be known. It&#8217;s still unclear whether it&#8217;s a \u2018Open Wi-Fi\u2019 network or a protected network. If it\u2019s protected, the passengers will have to obtain a temporary password to login to the Wi-Fi network. Details about the time limit and the amount data a user can use is also unclear.<\/p>\n<p>Recently, Trivandrum International Airport was chosen as the best AAI-run international airport in country. According to the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) survey conducted by Airports Council International (ACI) and AAI, Trivandrum Airport scored 4.26. The ASQ survey was based on a questionnaire distributed during peak airport hours.
