Tata Motors-owned Jaguar Land Rover has launched the locally manufactured Jaguar XJ in the country, with price starting at Rs 92.1 lakh. Jaguar XJ luxury saloon is being manufactured at the company’s Pune plant.<\/p>\n

Jaguar XJ will be available in two variants – premium luxury and portfolio. Dimensions stand at 5,252 mm length, 1,457 mm height, 1,899 mm width and a wheelbase of 3,157 mm. It has a turning radius of 12.3 meters and a boot space of 520 liters. The rear suspension has been re-tuned to enhance rear seat ride comfort.<\/p>\n

Inside, the long-wheelbase versions of the new XJ gets \u2018airline\u2019 style reclining seats with massage function, increased headroom, LED reading lights and fold-out business tables.\u00a0 There is also an optional rear seat entertainment package that includes, two rear seat touch screens, mounted on the back of front seat headrests.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the performance, the new Jaguar XJ is powered by a 3.0l diesel engine, which can deliver 275 PS at 4,000 rpm and 600 Nm at @ 2,000 rpm. This power and torque is delivered via 8 speed automatic transmission which takes the car to a top speed of 250 kmph. Acceleration figures too are decent at 6.4 seconds for 0-100 kmph, considering it weighs almost 2.5 tonnes.<\/p>\n

The XJ also features Jaguar’s Intelligent Start-Stop system, which uses a Twin Solenoid Starter (TSS) to shut down the engine when the car stops, and restarts as soon as the driver accelerates. According to the manufacturer, the time taken to restart the engine is less than the time taken for the driver’s foot to move from the brake to the accelerator.<\/p>\n

Jaguar XJ will rival the likes of Mercedes Benz S-Class, the BMW 7-Series and the 2014 Audi A8L.<\/p>\n
