#EnteThiruvananthapuram:<\/strong><\/em> National passenger carrier Air India started its maiden operations to Italy with direct flights on its fleet of newly-acquired \u2018Boeing 787 Dreamliner<\/strong>\u2019. It seems like the new direct flight service between Delhi and Rome became a boon to Trivandrum.<\/p>\n

Air India finalised the schedule after considering the increase in the number of travellers to Rome from the Trivandrum. Now passengers travelling to Italy from Trivandrum can board the AI 466 flight.\u00a0 After a 4-hour flight, the flyers can board the Dreamliner (AI 123) that will depart from Delhi to Italy at 2.20 p.m.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Trivandrum Airport witness heavy rush of passengers to Rome during special events in the Vatican such as the recent canonisation of two former Popes and the conclave to select the Pope. There has been instance where as many as 187 people travelled to Rome from Trivandrum. So far, passengers from Trivandrum flying to these cities had to change to other airlines or transit at international hubs in West Asia or Middle East.<\/p>\n

Air India Dreamliner will operate from flights from Delhi to Rome (Fiumicino, Leonardo da Vinci Airport) and Milan (Malpensa Airport). The flight will be operated on a triangular route. Delhi-Rome-Milan-Delhi – will operate 4 days a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The flight will depart from Delhi at 2:20pm and will arrive in Rome at 7:00pm. The flight will leave Rome at 8:40pm (as AI122) and reach Milan at 10:00pm. The return flight AI 122 will depart from Milan at 11:30pm and arrive in Delhi at 10:15am the following day. Delhi-Milan-Rome-Delhi will operate thrice a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.<\/p>\n
