With the new facility, passengers can purchase unreserved tickets available after preparation of charts 4 hours prior to departure of the trains and avail of the facility 20 minutes prior to the departure.<\/p>\n<p>At present, reservations cannot be done if the journey distance is below 200 km but in this service there is no distance restriction. For example, passengers usually can\u2019t reserve seats in trains like Mangala and Netravati from Ernakulam till Kannur. However, with the new facility, passenger can confirm his seat by purchasing the ticket from the dedicated counter if there are any unreserved tickets.<\/p>\n<p>Dedicated booking counter is available at counter No 4 in Thiruvananthapuram and at counter No 9 in Ernakulam. The counter will function at all times except from 11.30 p.m. to 12.30 a.m. for server maintenance. Passenger won\u2019t have to pay any additional charges for purchasing the ticket from these counters.<\/p>\n<p>Dedicated current booking counters will reduce the misappropriation being done by the TTEs.
