The new destination will help to bring in more tourists to the district.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The three new boating destinations are coming up at Kollampuzha in Attingal, Pulimootukadavu in Chirayinkeezhu and Murikkumpuzha.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The new boat clubs will be easily accessible to the travellers in both Trivandrum and Kollam district. \u00a0Tourism Promotion Council plans to use 8-seater monohull boat, 6-seater and 4-seater speed boats at the new boat clubs. The boating facilities will be operational before Onam season.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The current boats which are 10 to 15 years of age at the existing boat clubs at Kappil, Neyyar Dam and Aakkulam will be replaced with new ones.<\/strong> At Neyyar Dam and Kappil, 24-seater double hull boat and 15-seater double hull boat will be deployed. Meanwhile Akkulam tourist village has been closed for renovation since September 2012. The tourist village and the adjoining boat club are covered in weeds and water hyacinth which makes boating impossible.
