For this an amount of Rs4.5 crore has been sanctioned.<\/p>\n<p>Water Resources Minister P J Joseph announced the project at a meeting convened to evaluate the 8 projects being implemented by the Water Resources Department in Trivandrum constituency. Topographic survey will be completed within a month and a detailed project report will be finalised soon. The clean-up drive will be implemented in February next year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-19693\" alt=\"Parvathy Puthanar\" src=\"http:\/\/news.entecity.com\/files\/2014\/07\/Parvathy-puthanar.jpg\" width=\"559\" height=\"280\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The amount will be used to lay sewage pipeline along the banks of Parvathy Puthanar from Moonnattumukku to Muttathara sewage treatment plant. The cleaning drive also includes removal of water hyacinths and construction of foot bridges at various places across the river. Government also plans to facilitate cruise through the Parvathy Puthanar.\u00a0 Inland Navigation Department has been assigned to prepare the detailed project report on the matter.<\/p>\n<p>The Rs 640-crore project to clean-up the Karamana and Killiyar rivers will be submitted to the Union Ministry of Environment and Forests. The DPR has been prepared on the basis of a study conducted by RITES.
