A state-of-the-art Technology Innovation Zone (TIZ) modelled on the lines of those in Silicon Valley and MIT will come up in Kinfra Hi-Tech Park in Kalamassery, Kochi.<\/p>\n
Technopark-Technology Business Incubator (T-TBI) will setup the Technology Innovation Zone over an area 3 lakh-sq.ft at an investment of Rs. 150 crore<\/strong>. Already T-TBI has bought the land from Kinfra Park and the lease agreement for 13.2 acres was signed last month.<\/p>\n T-TBI will setup the Technology Innovation Zone over an area 3 lakh-sq.ft at an investment of\u00a0Rs. 150 crore.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n TIZ’s main objective is to provide Kerala with world-class facilities which are available in institutions like MIT or Silicon Valley.\u00a0Apart from these, TIZ will offer mentoring to young entrepreneurs with the help from angel investors. Technology Innovation Zone will expand beyond IT and telecom sector to 6-8 industrial sectors such as electronics, medical, tourism, \u00a0nano-technology and high-tech agriculture\u00a0etc.<\/p>\n The state-of-the-art incubation facility will include a fab-lab<\/strong> (fabrication lab), and data centre. It will have small offices as well as premier institutions. The full facility will be a green campus and uses solar power and rain water harvesting. The centre will also have a convention centre, dormitories, food courts, amphitheatre and exhibition lounge.<\/p>\n Kinfra campus currently houses Startup Village and the Biotech Park.
