KSRTC has started special chain bus service between Kazhakootam Junction and Technopark on a trial basis. It has been a long-pending demand of the techies for a bus service between the two places.<\/p>\n
The shuttle service will start from 7:30am to 10:00am in every 30 minutes. Evening schedule is yet to be finalized. Buses will display the routes in Malayalam, English and Hindi, considering the huge numbers of employees from other states.<\/p>\n
Technopark is home to about 45,000 employees. It is estimated that about 5,000 people come by cars and about 10,000 people come by 2-wheelers, and roughly 35,000 people depend on public transport system. Even though JnNURM Volvo services are present, they seldom come in schedule due to heavy traffic in the city. The new chain service will be a blessing to Techies who come by train and employees who are forced to walk from Kazhakkoottam which is the nearest bus stop.<\/p>\n
KSRTC decided to start the shuttle service after a proposal was submitted by Prathidhwani, a socio-cultural organization of Technopark employees, Technoparktoday.com and Ksrtcblog.com. \u00a0Earlier, Prathidhwani launched a campaign to install police aid post inside the Technopark campus which became a huge success. Based on this a prepaid-auto counter and police aid post was installed in front of Technopark main gate.<\/p>\n
