The premium hotel will be run solely by women making it the first of its kind in the nation itself.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The room rent of the 2-star hotel will be in the range of Rs. 1000 and Rs. 1,500. There would not be any subsidies on room rent.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The local body proposes to run the venture by converting the old Libra Hotel building at Paramara road. Last week, a team of architects visited the building and has asked for a structural stability report. Currently the building is used for housing a few families evicted from the banks of Perandoor canal. Except one family, all others had moved out to their own homes.<\/p>\n<p>The architects who visited the site said that the building was in a pathetic condition and a considerable amount of refurbishment works had to be undertaken. The utility lines such as power and water, needed to be inspected and there were pools of water inside the building. The total cost of the repair of the structure is estimated at around Rs 1.25 crore.<\/p>\n<p>The premium 2-star hotel for women will be a boon to women executives who come to the city for various meetings and conferences.
