Health Minister V S Sivakumar will inaugurate the clinic at a function to be held here on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>The Telestroke Clinic will be linked to the \u2018<strong>Tele Neurology<\/strong>\u2019 unit of the \u2018Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre\u2019 in Kochi via video conferencing facility. With the new clinic, doctors at the General Hospital can send documents related to the CT Scans of the patients, who come with symptoms of stroke following high blood pressure to \u2018Tele Neurology\u2019 unit at Amrita Institute which is functioning round the clock.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The result and feedback will reach back to the stroke clinic in 15-30 minutes and the treatment can be started within one hour. Thus patients who gets stroke could be saved through the timely treatment from the side of the clinic.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Along with the Telestroke clinic, the hospital also gets a stroke rehabilitation centre, CR system at X-ray department and a new block for Public Health Training School. The rehabilitation centre will help patients who suffered stroke to get sufficient aftercare treatment. &#8220;Those people who cannot engage in their routine activities owing to the limitations caused by stroke will be treated with the help of various equipments, which will make the functioning of the muscles and nerves of the affected part normal.&#8221; the hospital said in a press release.<\/p>\n<p>K Muraleedharan MLA will preside over the function.
