This is easily my favorite kind. This obviously means that the people who are getting married are dear to me and I am genuinely happy for them. This gets even better if they marry out of lots of love , instead of a contract between their families. This would be an event where I happily dress up , and nothing that goes wrong would tarnish my spirits, which would be higher than a Santa Claus\u2019\u00a0 who won a lottery on a Christmas night.<\/p>\n

These weddings too, are happy events which doubles up as either a school or a college reunion. The happiness for the people who get married stand almost at par with the excitement of meeting\u00a0 and catching up with friends at that weddings on the priority scale. These weddings obviously calls in for dressing up , and gossip updates .<\/p>\n

These are the pompous theme weddings which I attend purely to entertain myself. In these kind of an event , you would easily spot me sitting in my corner sipping on a drink and quietly observing. Most of the times, it wouldn\u2019t be a deep thought, I might just be basking in the knowledge that I\u2019m a wise shopper who knows how to put things right and carry things off,\u00a0 Otherwise, I would just be gleeful that this wedding has provided me with fuel for articles like this. If not all these, I would be just be busy ogling at a good looking earthling.<\/p>\n

These weddings are not about the bride, not about the groom , not about the people who come. It\u2019s all about the celebration of my eternal love affair with mutton biriyani. These are the weddings which you grumble and wake up in the morning , gift wrap a bulky box and travel\u00a0 miles and end up sleeping in some auditorium in front of a bride or groom you probably wouldn\u2019t have seen before. Why are you there ? Because,\u00a0 some people, who doesn\u2019t really have much to do with you, for some reason , have taken the pain to travel with their whole family , the above mentioned number of miles to knock at your door to give you an invitation card , because breaking tradition is sacrilege. And you go because \u201cwhat would they think about us\u201d.<\/p>\n
Weddings sure are happy events at least for some people. And no offence to people who decide to celebrate it in big scale , but this is just the way I see it. After having attended a lot of weddings, and have been a passive listener to most of the guests, analyzing and criticizing the various nuances of the wedding instead of being a part of the newly wed\u2019s happiness, I wonder why you take the pain of making a beautiful moment in your life surrounded with a lot of negativity.<\/strong><\/p>\nBut anyways, make-up, trim-down, suit-up, pucker-up , peel, polish, glow and pout..because it is \u201cChingam\u201d, that time of the year when we, take more days off work and miss classes from schools and colleges, nop \u2013not for any emergency which makes your existence hang on the end of a question mark , but maybe, for your old neighbor\u2019s sister in law\u2019s brother\u2019s wedding gala.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
