The tilling of the floor of the swimming pool is almost complete and only work at the deep zone is remaining. Two large capacity overhead water tanks are also constructed to ensure there is an uninterrupted water supply to the bathrooms of the pool.\u00a0 Other two remaining works include setting up of filtration tank and the installation of light.<\/p>\n
Two main hurdle faced by the pool is the electricity and water connections. \u201cThe Kerala Water Authority MD has to request KSEB for reconnecting the electric lines while the water connection also has to be restored,\u201d said Gopakumar B, secretary of the KWA Swimming Pool Users\u2019 Association to Indian Express.<\/p>\n
The swimming pool at Kerala Water Authority Vellayambalam was demolished in 2009 for building an Olympic-size facility for the National Games. However, the works stopped when water supply pipes were located underground. Though the aquatics venue for the National Games was shifted, the National Games Secretariat had agreed to renovate the pool.
