The cleaning drive will remove waste dumped along city road from September 20 onwards. Trucks to collect waste from 8 health circles have been arranged. Biogas plants, organic waste convertors and pipe composts are being planned to deal with the bio-degradable waste. Mini-incineration units will be set up at three locations – Chalai, Palayam and Thycaud Santhikavadom to process the bio-waste. Corporation has already written to Pollution Control Board for approval for incinerator units. To process plastic and e-waste, a plastic recycling units and e-waste processing centre will be set up the Industrial Estate, Pappanamcode.<\/p>\n
By taking these measure about 80% of the garbage can be tackled.<\/strong> The rest 20% waste originate from hotels and poultry units. \u00a0Corporation will soon formulate ways to deal with these wastes. Six \u2018Expression of Interests\u2019 (EoI) have been received for managing slaughter waste and a technical committee will evaluate them and select one.<\/p>\n
