The fees of passport under normal category has been raised from Rs 1000 to Rs 1500 and for application under Tatkal scheme, the fees has been increased from Rs 2500 to Rs 3500.<\/p>\n<p>For Indians residing abroad, the renewed rates will be $75 and Euro 60 for the existing rates of $40 and Euro 48 respectively. The fees for Passport and related services were last fixed on March 29,2002. The official statement says that there has been great increase in the costs of inputs viz Capital expenditure, Printing of Passports, Establishment expenses, Payment to service providers, IT expenses, Postal rates etc. In view of these escalated expenses the <strong>hike in Passport fees<\/strong> has been necessitated.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Ministry of External Affair has announced that there will be an increase in the Passport and related service fees with effect from 1st\u00a0October.
