HTC has now introduced a new high-powered mid-range smartphone called the “Desire EYE<\/strong>” in a bid to cash in on the popular selfie trend. The HTC Desire Eye can be seen as an upgrade over the HTC One (E8).<\/p>\n

HTC Desire EYE sports a 5.2-inch Full HD LCD display. The devices is powered by a\u00a0 quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor with 2GB of RAM\u00a0 and runs Android 4.4 with the latest Sense software and two camera-centric apps \u2013 Eye Experience and the new Zoe. It also gets 16GB of built-in storage that is expandable up to 128GB via microSD card.<\/p>\n

Coming to the Camera. The selfie focused smartphone boasts of a 13 megapixel front and rear cameras for detailed image quality. The phone’s front cam is the highest resolution front camera to date. The one on the back has an f\/2.0 aperture and a 28mm lens, while the one on the front has a wider 20mm lens but a smaller f\/2.2 aperture, perfect for taking selfies.<\/p>\n

Both cameras come with dual-LED flash and can record 1080p@30fps video.\u00a0HTC has also included their “Boom Sound<\/strong>” speakers to the Desire Eye<\/p>\n

It has a Li-Po battery with a rating of 2,400mAh. The Eye also trumps the HTC One (E8)<\/a> with an IPX7 rating \u2013 water resistance up to 1m of water for half an hour. In terms of connectivity, the phone supports 4G LTE, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi and microUSB port.<\/p>\n
