The Kerala<\/a> medical service corporation has come forward with a novel scheme in which medicines will be supplied right at our door steps. There is no longer any need to stand in queues at the medical stores to get the medicines. People can register by depositing Rs5000 or above in multiples of thousand. On acquiring Karunya\u2019s Family Medicine Card<\/strong>, the corporation will supply the medicines once in a month or whenever required, against the sum deposited. The scheme will come into effect on Kerala Piravi. Further, another scheme named Loyalty-Bonus scheme is also envisaged along with this.<\/p>\n

Medicines are supplied at high discounted rates in Karunya Community Pharmacy. Compared to the regular medical stores, here you can get discounts from 20%-90% for medicines. If you have taken the Family Medicine Card(FMC), there will be an additional discount of 2%. The application forms are available at the outlets of Karunya Community Pharmacy, Head office of Corporation and from the website. The application should be accompanied by the doctor\u2019s prescription. When the bonus points reach 200, you will be eligible for a discount of Rs 200 in the next bill. The service is now available only in Trivandrum. The loyalty-Bonus scheme is for those who buy medicines directly from the pharmacy outlets. When you buy medicine costing Rs5000 at a time, you will be given the Loyalty-Bonus card without any fees. Otherwise, the card will be available on remitting Rs50. Here, you will be eligible for 2% discount over and above the discounts from the community pharmacy. Also, on redeeming 200 bonus points, there will be discount of Rs200 on the next bill.<\/p>\n

At present there are only two Karunya Pharmacy outlets in Trivandrum<\/a>. The Minister of Health Sri V.S Sivakumar has said that work is progressing in the medical colleges of Alappuzha and Kozhikode. Work will soon start at Thrissur and Kottayam medical colleges. The Minister also added that the facilities of Family Medicine Card and Loyalty discount card will be extended to all districts on establishment of Karunya Community Pharmacies there.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
