Vigilance awareness week was celebrated at Indian Bank from October 27 to November 1.<\/p>\n
The theme for the vigilance awareness week this year is ‘Combating corruption – with technology as an enabler. Chief Guest Shri T P Senkumar IPS, Director General of Prisons and Correctional Services delivered the Key Note Address. Sri.V.A.Prasanth DGM\/ZM administered the Vigilance Awareness pledge to all employees of the Indian Bank. AGM Alben Jesudasan and Vigilance Officer Shri B. Vijayan were present at the function.<\/p>\n
Corruption is found to be one of the most damaging consequences of poor governance system. It is characterized by lack of both transparency and accountability. To create awareness against Corruption and to promote transparency, the central government celebrates Vigilance awareness week every year.<\/p>\n
The observance of the week creates awareness among Government Departments, Institutions and people to check corruption at every level. It inspires the system to implement preventive measures effectively, so that transparency and accountability can be maintained in the governance.
