{"id":21842,"date":"2014-12-22T15:00:11","date_gmt":"2014-12-22T09:30:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/news.entecity.com\/?p=21842"},"modified":"2014-12-22T15:00:11","modified_gmt":"2014-12-22T09:30:11","slug":"1200-crores-sought-for-keralas-it-sector","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/entecity.com\/news\/1200-crores-sought-for-keralas-it-sector\/","title":{"rendered":"1,200 crores sought for Kerala&#8217;s IT sector!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Group of Technology Companies (GTech), the industry body of software companies in Kerala, has sought an outlay of <strong>Rs 1,200 crore<\/strong> for the IT industry in the coming state budget. \u00a0This compares with Rs 300 crore allocated in the previous budget.<\/p>\n<p>The recommendation was placed before chief minister at an interaction with the representatives of IT industry at the GTech Leaders\u2019 Meet in Technopark. Chief Minister assured that the government would ensure adequate support for enterprises to promote sustainable entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The measures would be a part of the government\u2019s initiative to promote an entrepreneurial-friendly ecosystem in the state.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;The IT industry provides huge employment opportunities for the youth of the state. Hence, the ecosystem needs to be scaled up and e-governance strengthened to widen the industrial base. It is important that the government allocates a higher amount for IT in the forthcoming state budget,&#8221; said GTech chairman V K Mathews.<\/p>\n<p>Kerala also intends to draw up special schemes for start-ups looking for second round of funding once they graduate from incubation centres.
