Sarod maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan’s wish to start an international school of music got the momentum with state government identifying the land for the mega project.<\/p>\n

The State Government has assured that land for setting up the institute will be provided at the earliest. Already the government had identified land in Trivandrum, Kochi and Thrissur for setting up the institute.<\/p>\n

The government had suggested the Kinfra Film and Video Park in Trivandrum but the final decision would be made by Amjad Ali Khan.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Once Khan, takes a decision on the location, further process would be taken up. In 2013 Amjad Ali Khan has expressed his desire to start the institute in Trivandrum. <\/a>So there is a high chance that Trivandrum will be chosen for the international music school.<\/p>\n

The government will provide 1.5 acres of land and all the facilities, including infrastructure, will be arranged by the Trust under Amjad Ali Khan. The school would be under the Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi but would have separate body to govern it.<\/p>\n

International school of music will take students of all streams of music such as Hindustani, Carnatic, Western as well as instruments and percussionists. Project when realized will be the first international institute in the country dedicated to music.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
