Here comes another low-cost airline service to touch southern skies. Air Pegasus, floated by one of the largest domestic airport ground handling companies, will take to the skies in February, linking the southern cities with ATR turboprop aircraft.<\/p>\n
Air Pegasus will soon launch services from its Bengaluru base to Trivandrum, Hubli and Chennai by mid-February.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
The first flight will be from Bengaluru to Trivandrum. It will be followed by Chennai-Trivandrum, Bengaluru-Chennai and Bengaluru-Hubli. Chennai will be the second hub after Bengaluru.<\/p>\n
The airline company has a fleet of three ATR aircraft. The first aircraft has already arrived. The company is all set to conduct a ‘proving flight’ next week as per DGCA specifications. The ‘proving flight’ is to check if a new airline complies with operations, ground-handling and other procedures and facilities.<\/p>\n
The fares for Air Pegasus is expected to be 700-1,000<\/strong> lower than competitors. The airline also plans to cut down costs by offering ground handling to its parent company Decor Aviation.<\/p>\n
In the future, Air Pegasus will start services to Tuticorin, Rajahmundry, Hyderabad and Kochi when the next two planes arrive by March.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
