To strengthen the security system at Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple, the police have decided to open a \u2018Command Control\u2019 system in the temple. The centre will be inaugurated by chief minister Oommen Chandy on February 11.<\/p>\n
The objective of the Command Control system will be coordinated and comprehensive security of the temple. Using the system, the police can monitor the temple effectively and take immediate action.<\/p>\n

The remote-controlled system, including security installations, is being setup at a cost of Rs 13.40 crore by Keltron. Through the surveillance cameras placed inside and outside the temple, the system will monitor the temple and send alert messages in case of a security threat. At the push of a button the system can raise the bollards and blockers at the entry gates of the temple to prevent any external attack.<\/p>\n
The first and second phase security systems which include 58 surveillance cameras, x-ray baggage scanners at the four entry points, bullet proof sentry booths at east and south entry gates, bollards, blockers, bomb detection and dispensing equipment at the temple is complete. However the electronic speed folding doors are yet to be installed. In the third phase seismic sensors will be installed to neutralize underground security threat.<\/p>\n
