The campaign against sound pollution gathered heat after students complained that high levels of sound pollution are affecting their studies especially during the examination time.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The guidelines issued by the district administration against sound pollution clearly state that any kind of sound pollution that affects normal lives of public would call for a fine of Rs 10,000. The equipments will also be seized,&#8221; said district collector Biju Prabhakar to TOI.<\/p>\n<p>People can complaint about sound pollution with control rooms functioning at district collectorate and respective taluk offices. The names of the complainants need not be recorded while receiving complaints.<\/p>\n<p>The district administration has earlier issued strict instructions on the use of loudspeakers in the district. Use of such loud speakers near hospitals and schools has been banned. City police have also started taking action against sound pollution by vehicles.
