India launch this year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Suzuki Motors has taken the wraps off the &#8220;iK-2&#8221; concept at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. Country&#8217;s largest carmaker is planning to launch the iK-2 in India. According to Suzuki, K-2 is \u201can ideal compact car\u201d with \u201cLiquid Flow\u201d as its central theme.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-22718 size-large\" src=\"http:\/\/news.entecity.com\/files\/2015\/03\/Maruti-Suzuki-iK-2-Front-Grille-758x513.jpg\" alt=\"Maruti Suzuki iK-2 Front Grille\" width=\"742\" height=\"502\" srcset=\"https:\/\/entecity.com\/news\/files\/2015\/03\/Maruti-Suzuki-iK-2-Front-Grille-758x513.jpg 758w, https:\/\/entecity.com\/news\/files\/2015\/03\/Maruti-Suzuki-iK-2-Front-Grille.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 742px) 100vw, 742px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The iK-2 is built on an all-new platform that Suzuki says &#8211; increases rigidity while reducing weight via a fundamental redesign of the under body\u2019s structure. \u00a0Suzuki also claims that the new design improves fuel efficiency, safety, handling, stability, and NVH performance of the car.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-22717 size-large\" src=\"http:\/\/news.entecity.com\/files\/2015\/03\/Maruti-Suzuki-iK-2-Back-751x513.jpg\" alt=\"Maruti Suzuki iK-2 Back\" width=\"742\" height=\"506\" srcset=\"https:\/\/entecity.com\/news\/files\/2015\/03\/Maruti-Suzuki-iK-2-Back-751x513.jpg 751w, https:\/\/entecity.com\/news\/files\/2015\/03\/Maruti-Suzuki-iK-2-Back.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 742px) 100vw, 742px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The car has a U-shaped grille that swoops from the headlights and a conventional-looking front bumper with fog lamps. On the rear, iK-2 has a blackened A-pillar, wide fenders and muscular lines running across the top portion of the side profile similar to <a href=\"http:\/\/news.entecity.com\/2014-maruti-swift-launched\/\" target=\"_blank\">Maruti Swift<\/a>. The showcased model features a new 1.0-litre, direct-injection turbocharged petrol engine. Suzuki calls it the &#8220;Boosterjet&#8221; whose fuel efficiency has been improved by shrinking engine displacement, while power and torque are boosted with a turbocharger. The new engine is based on the Suzuki&#8217;s 1.0-litre K-series engine that also powers the Alto and the WagonR<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-22720 size-large\" src=\"http:\/\/news.entecity.com\/files\/2015\/03\/Maruti-Suzuki-iK-2-Rear-768x499.jpg\" alt=\"Maruti Suzuki iK-2 Rear\" width=\"742\" height=\"482\" srcset=\"https:\/\/entecity.com\/news\/files\/2015\/03\/Maruti-Suzuki-iK-2-Rear-768x499.jpg 768w, https:\/\/entecity.com\/news\/files\/2015\/03\/Maruti-Suzuki-iK-2-Rear.jpg 862w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 742px) 100vw, 742px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Expected to be priced around in the range of <strong>Rs 5.5 lakh<\/strong> &#8211; <strong>Rs 9 lakh,<\/strong> the new premium hatchback will be launched during this year&#8217;s festive season.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Suzuki Motors has taken the wraps off the &#8220;iK-2&#8221; concept at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.
