Initially it was proposed to setup the CNG plant at Kudapanakkunnu. But the idea was dropped owing to some protest from the local residents.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Clean Kerala the company behind the project is likely to take PPP mode in setting up the plant. Already 2 companies based in Pune and Bengaluru turned up for the pre-bid meeting and the company has formulated three proposals for the implementation of the project. Of the two companies, one submitting the lowest financial quote will be chosen for the project.<\/p>\n
According to first proposal, a biogas plant with a capacity of 5-tonne will be setup at Chalai and depending on its success, it will be extended. \u00a0As per the second proposal, the company shall setup the plant with a full capacity of 25 tonnes<\/strong> by investing the entire cost in six months. After ascertaining the efficiency of the plant 50% of the payment will be given. Three months will be given for completing licence formalities from the petroleum ministry and once it is completed, the rest of the payment shall be made.<\/p>\n
Clean Kerala will take the profit from the sale of gas. The price of gas will be fixed depending on the market rates. The company has to be supplied with required quantity of waste on a daily basis. Clean Kerala is envisaging bio-gas plants with capacities ranging between 5-25 tonnes for the project.<\/p>\n
