Kerala Tourism\u2019s first wayside amenity centre located at Shanghumugham Beach was inaugurated by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy. The wayside amenity centre is the first among the 25 planned rest rooms across the State.<\/p>\n
The modern amenity centre at Shanghumugham has an area of 687 sq.ft<\/strong> and is located in the compound of the starfish restaurant on the sprawling land owned by the Thiruvananthapuram District Tourism Promotion Council (TDTPC).<\/p>\n The wayside amenity centre is the first among the 25 planned rest rooms across the State.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Kerala tourism plans to create 3 class of amenity centre \u2013 A, B, and C across the state. The unit at Shanghumugham falls under the B category. The modern rest room contains four toilets, two each for men and women. The branded unit also has disabled-friendly toilets. Two janitors will be present round-the-clock for cleaning. Apart from this, the amenity centre also has refreshment, information kiosk, cloakroom, space for parking and other basic facilities.<\/p>\n The event also witnessed the state-level inauguration \u2018Take a Break\u2019 scheme by Kerala Tourism.<\/p>\n ‘Take a Break’ aims to provide a better tourism experience to the tourists visiting the state, by providing toilets, coffee shops and rest rooms of international standards at roadsides.
