In order to make the game of squash popular in Kerala, the Kerala Police Sports and Youth Welfare Society has decided to launch a squash training centre, titled the Kerala Squash Academy in Trivandrum.<\/p>\n
This will be the first squash academy in the state and will come up at the squash court at the Chandrasekharan Nair Stadium complex which was handed over to the society by the National Games Organising Committee (NGOC)<\/p>\n
The academy would function as a training centre for new talent in squash with a long-term objective of producing world-class players. In the available space a gymnasium would be developed as an \u2018Elite Gym\u2019 with state-of-the-art equipment. The gymnasium will come up in the central area of the complex in the first floor, adjacent to the spectators\u2019 gallery. Apart from these, there will also be a billiards table and a few table tennis courts on the first floor. A cafeteria would sell refreshment to the members.<\/p>\n
A family membership will be available for Rs.30,000 per annum while Rs.1 lakh would entail one to lifetime membership. Corporate membership is also available at differing rates that can be ascertained.<\/p>\n
