Women travellers who come to the capital for various needs will now have a\u00a0 safe, economical option for accommodation, as Trivandrum Corporation’s\u00a0 first short stay home for women is ready for inauguration. \u00a0The project will be inaugurated next week.<\/p>\n
Civic body’s short-stay home at Sreekanteswaram will offer women travellers with a safe and economical accommodation. The facility is located at the same campus where civic body\u2019s working women\u2019s hostel operates.<\/p>\n
Women can check in at the home at an affordable rate of Rs 100 per day.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
The short-stay home which has been completed at a cost of Rs25 lakh has two floors providing nine rooms and a dormitory which can accommodate well over 20 persons at a time. There is also a vacant space on the first floor for recreation and another space where clothes can be washed and dried during the stay.<\/p>\n
Women can check in at the home at an affordable rate of Rs 100 per day. A person can stay 2-3 days at the short-stay home.\u00a0 A 24-hour security is will also be provided to the home.<\/p>\n
The concept of short stay home was first proposed by the welfare standing committee with a mission to make Trivandrum a women-friendly city.
