The National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM) predicts software exports from Kerala to touch Rs.10,000 crore by year end,\u00a0 a growth of Rs.3,000 crore from last year\u2019s exports.<\/p>\n
IT exports from Kerala grew from Rs7000 crore in 2013-14 to touch the Rs.10,000 crore-mark<\/strong> while total direct employment in the IT industry reached one lakh employees. Of these employees, 45,000 were working at Technopark, Trivandrum and 25,000 at Kochi Infopark and the rest in IT companies spread across the state.<\/p>\n Of these employees, 45,000 were working at Technopark, Trivandrum and 25,000 at Kochi Infopark.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Meanwhile, the IT workforce in the State, including employees at Technopark and Infopark and other IT firms in other districts had gone up to 1,00,000<\/strong>, a growth of 30,000 over the figure last year.<\/p>\n K Purushothaman, senior director of Nasscom said the IT landscape in Kerala was defined by technology companies rather than large IT firms. Most of these companies were leveraging the good talent pool in Kerala to grow and expand beyond the State, he said.
