It is believed that Kerala Blasters are looking for venues outside Kochi and the Greenfield Stadium in Trivandrum may get an opportunity to host ISL football matches.<\/p>\n
While the reports are yet to confirm, there are strong indications that at least two home matches of Kerala Blasters will be played at the Greenfield Stadium in Kariyavattom. It is learnt that, Kerala Blasters management has been mulling with the idea of hosting some of the home matches of team outside Kochi to generate more money from ads. They also plan to convey the message that Kerala Blasters belong to the whole of Kerala.<\/p>\n

Initially, Kozhikode was considered but the condition of the Corporation Stadium was found to be unsatisfactory. Moreover, non-availability of enough rooms in star hotels also forced Kerala Blasters’ management to drop Kozhikode. This is where Trivandrum International Stadium comes in as it offers world-class facilities compared to Kaloor International Stadium. Superior playing turf, powerful floodlights and modern seats for spectators have clinched the issue in favour of Trivandrum.<\/p>\n
The Greenfield Stadium has a capacity to house 50,000 spectators. There are special locker room facilities for football teams and the dressing room has provisions for ice bath, steam bath and separate room for team staff. There is also a modern club house in the stadium which is on par with five star hotels.<\/p>\n
Blasters’ management is sceptical about the spectator flow. They are on the opinion that if football fans from Malabar don’t come to Trivandrum to watch the matches, there will be many empty seats in galleries.<\/p>\n
However, one should not underestimate Trivandrumites. Trivandrumites gave a huge fan support during the National Games 2015<\/strong>. The crowd turn-out at all the venues at National Games were immense.<\/p>\n
