Kerala Blasters (KBFC) is all set to start a Football School in Kerala. Called as \u2018Kerala Blasters Football School\u2019 (KBFS), the school is the brain child of Sachin Tendulkar, owner of KBFC.<\/p>\n
With the opening of Kerala Blasters Football School, the future of football in Kerala in looking bright.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
The missions is to build a revolution in football in the state at the grass root level. The first Kerala Blasters Football School will come up at the Ambedkar stadium in Kochi from August 11th, 2015. Followed by Trivandrum’s University Stadium, Corporation Stadium at Kozhikode and at Thrissur\u2019s Corporation Stadium.<\/p>\n
Kerala Blaster’s technical director for grassroots, Terry Phelan said, \u201cWe\u2019re not looking for quick fixes. It\u2019s a long-term approach where the real foundation for progress for the youth and under-19 teams will be offered\u201d.<\/p>\n
Irishman Phelan, former Chelsea and Manchester City player, also added \u201cThis will be a football project where children are going to be thinking for themselves, where game intelligence will be given top priority\u201d.<\/p>\n
A total of 180 students are expected to be trained under the umbrage of the KBFC.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
The school will have six batches each having 30 students. A total of 180 students are expected to be trained under the umbrage of the KBFC. Physical education (PE) teachers from 27 \u201cgrassroots schools\u201d have also been roped in to provide free basic coaching to their respective students during PT period.<\/p>\n
Admission to the KBFS is now open for children between 10 and 13 years (born between 2002 and 2005).The monthly fee per student is Rs. 2000 with an annual enrolment fee of Rs. 5000 per player. Scholarships will also be offered for promising players.<\/p>\n
