The Adani Group aims to complete the port in 1,000 days with construction starting this November 1, Kerala Piravi Day.<\/p>\n<p>However, City&#8217;s infrastructure needs to be developed fast. When the port get completed, city roads will witness increased vehicle density. Big container trucks will reach Trivandrum with the commissioning of the port. This would lead to traffic congestion. Therefore the roads should be developed simultaneously.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>When the port gets completed, big container trucks will reach Trivandrum.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Fortunately, the Kazhakkoottam-Mukkola NH By-Pass widening project is expected to begin by the end of this month. The road which will be developed with a width of 45-metre will give a major relief for the city as it would carry the heavy traffic to and from Vizhinjam, without choking the city. The Karamana-Kaliyikkavila widening which is also going on in a fast pace will allow vehicles from Tamil Nadu such inter-state buses and lorries to pass through the city without getting stuck in traffic.\u00a0 Construction of both roads is expected to be completed in 24 to 36 months, ahead of the scheduled completion of the port project.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Also Read|\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/news.entecity.com\/why-adani-ports-is-the-best-thing-that-ever-happened-to-vizhinjam\/\" target=\"_blank\">Why Adani Ports is the best thing that ever happened to Vizhinjam!\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Three other roads from Vizhinjam area will be developed to national highway standards to ensure better connectivity to Vizhinjam.\u00a0 The Vizhinjam-Pallichal road, Mukkola-Balaramapuram road and Vazhimukku-Kanjiramkulam road, if widened to 4-lanes, could ease traffic woes to a large extent. Recently the Centre has given the go-ahead to construct National Highways to the proposed Vizhinjam port.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Recently the Centre has given the go-ahead to construct National Highways to the proposed Vizhinjam port.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The second phase of capital region development project (CRDP) plans to have an outer ring road, which will end at Vizhinjam port. However, the route is not finalized as the study for social and environmental impact is still going on.<\/p>\n<p>If all the road infrastructure projects completes on time it will ensure hassle-free traffic within the city when the Vizhinjam Port gets completed.
