{"id":23918,"date":"2015-08-24T16:29:42","date_gmt":"2015-08-24T10:59:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/news.entecity.com\/?p=23918"},"modified":"2015-08-24T16:29:42","modified_gmt":"2015-08-24T10:59:42","slug":"intelligent-led-streetlights-to-be-installed-in-trivandrum","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/entecity.com\/news\/intelligent-led-streetlights-to-be-installed-in-trivandrum\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Intelligent&#8217; LED Streetlights to be installed in Trivandrum!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Soon, the street lights in the city will become smart as, Trivandrum City Corporation is gearing up to install \u2018intelligent\u2019 LED street lights on the street of the capital.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The IMS LED project will be implemented by SIDCO at a cost of Rs 152.92 crore<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The state-of-the-art LED street lights will have the most advanced intelligent monitoring system (IMS) that can monitor real-time power supply and consumption.\u00a0 The centralized monitoring station will get all the information in case a light fails to function or has been damaged. This way, authorities can easily repair the dysfunctional street lights. Thus residents will no longer have to register complaint at the corporation office.<\/p>\n<p>IMS will also be incorporated with automatic control of light intensity. During fog and rainy conditions, the intensity of LED lights can be automatically enhanced even during daytime. During peak hours &#8211; ie between 6-8pm, LED lights will have the brightest luminance and will automatically fade down to lower levels later on saving significant electricity. SIDCO will also buy existing sodium vapour lamps and replace it with intelligent LEDs. The supply, installation, maintenance and repair will be vested with SIDCO.
