After opening a \u2018Boat Club\u2019 at Pulimoottil Kadavu, Chirayinkeezhu panchayat has come up with a tourism project to turn Pulimoottil Kadavu into a tourism spot.<\/p>\n
The panchayat has proposed a \u2018Tourism Facilitation Centre\u2019 at cost of Rs77lakh. The proposed centre will come up in an area of 20 cents at Pulimoottil Kadavu, where the century-old post office building is situated.<\/p>\n

According to the plan, Tourism Facilitation Centre will provide basic facilities for tourists who visit Pulimoottil Kadavu. A restaurant, rooms, conference hall and a tourism information centre has been included in the project plan.<\/p>\n
The area is already a well-known tourist spot with many historical spots such as Anchuthengu Kotta, Anchuthengu fishing harbour, native place of Mahakavi Kumaran Asan, Kayikara, freedom fighter Vaikom Khadar memorial and Attingal palace of royal family of Travancore, all within an 8km radius. During the olden days of postal service in India, mails were brought to the post office at Pulimoottil Kadavu through the waterway from Anchuthengu Kotta and from there mails were transported to other districts of the state.<\/p>\n
The state government had earlier approved a tourism development project of Rs 77 lakh for Pulimoottil Kadavu. However, due to unavailability of land, the project could not be initiated. The delay in commencement of the project was mainly due to conflict regarding ownership of land between the revenue department and the postal department.<\/p>\n
Later it was found that the land belonged to revenue department. Fortunately the conflict is resolved and the project will start soon.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
