Kerala Police is planning to setup a Central Monitoring and Control Station (CMCS) at the Police Headquarters (PHQ) in Trivandrum<\/strong> to remotely monitor the 24-hour security of homes and businesses across the State.<\/p>\n The system will let you connect your surveillance cameras, burglar and fire alarms, intrusion detection systems and movement sensors in your premises wirelessly to the CMCS. Thus, in the event of a security breach, your home security system sends silent alarm to police control room via CMCS. Dispatch officers at the CMCS will prioritise the alarm and calibrate the response required.<\/p>\n Once, the CMCS becomes online in 2016, they expect households also to register as users.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n The system will be connected with GIS-based Crime Mapping System, which currently enables the State police to know the location of police patrol vehicles on a digital map real time. This will help dispatch officers to save time by directing the closest patrol vehicle to the crime location.<\/p>\n However the initial users of this system will not be households. The police expect 290 State Government treasuries, 3,000 primary cooperative banks, 2,800 ATM kiosks, jewellery shops, banks, software hubs, film theatres and shopping malls to be their initial \u201cservice seekers. Once, the CMCS becomes online in 2016, they expect households also to register as users.<\/p>\n Customers will also have the option to “arm” the system when they leave the premises and \u201cdisarm\u201d it later.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Keltron\u2019s communication group is heading the project.\u00a0 When the system becomes fully operational home users can approach Keltron to set up the necessary infrastructure to link their premises to the CMCS.
