Soon visitors arriving at the Trivandrum International airport will be greeted with beautiful artworks as the Airports Authority of India (AAI)\u00a0is planning to setup extensive art display at the airport.<\/p>\n

AAI has started inviting entries, paintings, sculptures or other forms of art, to be displayed at the airport. The artists will be shortlisted by a panel and will be directed to display works at the gallery within three working days. The same procedure was followed while implementing \u2018Project Arteria\u2019.<\/p>\n
In the first phase, a 18-square metre area, inclusive of the wall of the security hold area of Terminal-I, and a 10.8-square metre area between Gate 1 and 2 of security hold area of Terminal-II will be used to display art works. Additional sites will be added later after examining various factors such as availability, aesthetics, effect on passenger flow pattern, and commercial viability.<\/p>\n

The exhibits will be on display for 10 days and the upkeep of them will be the responsibility of the artist. It will also have price tags fixed on them. When an exhibit is sold, Airports Authority of India will take 10% of the sale value and the remaining will go to the artist. Applications can be submitted till October 16.<\/p>\n
