Soon we can witness ‘food trucks’, on our streets providing healthy, hygienic and delicious dishes, thanks to ‘Food on Wheels’, an innovative initiative drawn up by Gender Park.<\/p>\n
After the success of \u2018She-Taxi’ project, Gender Park is now set to launch the ‘Food on Wheels’ programme. The aim is to achieve food safety along with women empowerment.<\/p>\n
The food trucks will serve food from 7 pm to 2 am during which the street will be closed to vehicular traffic.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Under the Food on Wheels project, around 2500 women entrepreneurs will serve high quality food at cheap rates through mobile food truck units which will be stationed nearby schools, colleges and government offices.<\/p>\n
That\u2019s not all! \u2018Food on Wheels\u2019 serve tasty food to late diners under the ‘Night Eatery Street’ (NES) scheme.\u00a0 Night Eatery Street envisages to serve hygiene, less oily, fresh, mildly flavoured foods during night times to the accompaniment of music, magic and cultural programmes. The food trucks will serve food from 7 pm to 2 am during which the street will be closed to vehicular traffic. The street will also include musical nights and cultural programmes by various artistes. By 3 am, the street will be cleaned and opened to traffic.<\/p>\n

The pilot project of Night Eatery Street will be launched in Trivandrum at ‘Manaveeyam Veedhi Road’. Once the project gets implemented, the place will metamorphose into a space for food and music.<\/p>\n
