They come here to enjoy the cool breeze of the beach. The coolness is nature&#8217;s free gift but those who come to escape from daily\u00a0chores has to enjoy this in pitch darkness.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/news.entecity.com\/name-bad-deeds-noble\/\" target=\"_blank\">Bad Boys Club (Boys Against Drugs) of Shankhumugham<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There are five high-mast lights here of which three belongs to corporation and two comes under DTPC of which one high-mast light of corporation works. The night beach is dark beach now without the lights. Last onam, the Valiyathoppe residents brought before the public through print and visual media the pathetic situation of the Shankhumugham\u00a0beach. Immediately after the media publishing the news, Mayor and Deputy Mayor came in person and fixed the problem. But the lights went off soon after repairing. First it went to deaf ears, later the forum members showed her the pictures that they took the day before the function. Mayor after seeing the picture lampooned, &#8220;You took the picture at the time of powercut.&#8221; The forum members retorted back, &#8220;If it was taken at the time of powercut all the five high-mast should not burn, one is burning madam.&#8221; Pat came Mayor&#8217;s reaction, she blamed the KSEB for their lack of maintenance. The honourable Mayor asked the ward councillor whether he has informed the KSEB and he said &#8220;Yes!&#8221;. The responsibility of both the elected leaders end here.<\/p>\n<p>As both the Mayor&#8217;s and ward councillor&#8217;s answer was not at all satifactory People&#8217;s Forum resort the help of <a title=\"Open your eyes DTPC!\" href=\"http:\/\/news.entecity.com\/let-us-make-holidays-enjoyable-not-tragic\/\" target=\"_blank\">DTPC<\/a> secretary Prakash and to their dismay he retorted, &#8220;Even I don&#8217;t know the exact position of this issue&#8221;.
