Trida will built a Bus terminal and a shopping complex on the 1.65 acres of land which belongs to Attakulangara School. The plan is to construct two storeys over the bus terminal and the project is estimated to cost around Rs 30 crore. Once the construction is complete, the scattered bus stops at East Fort region which is putting the life of pedestrians at stake, will be relocated to the new terminal.<\/p>\n
Since its inception, the project was continuously stalled by a group of nature lovers called Tree-Walk. Fortunately, Trida got a favourable verdict from the Kerala high court. The verdict was on a petition filed by environmentalists against felling of trees on the compound of Attakulangara School, for the project.<\/p>\n

The court accepted Trida’s statement that the number of trees cut would be less than 10. Trida also stated that this would not affect any facility enjoyed by the school. Instead, it promised to construct 10 classrooms in lieu of the building that will be demolished for the project. In addition, Trida has promised to plant 3 trees for every single one that will be axed. The court observed that the petitioner was raising flimsy arguments by quoting the number of butterflies and dragonflies in the place<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
