Soon the East fort \u2013 Pazhavangadi stretch will be one of the most beautiful stretch in the capital as beautification of East Fort area is currently under way.<\/p>\n
TRDCL is hoping to complete the beautification work by January.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
As part of beautification of the Fort area, the Thiruvananthapuram Road Development Company Ltd. (TRDCL), the concessionaire of the Thiruvananthapuram City Roads Improvement Project, is currently undertaking the development of a 320-m road stretch from East Fort to the Pazhavangady Ganapathy Temple.<\/p>\n
Beautification Works<\/strong><\/h3>\n
Landscaping is being done on the two-metre-wide median in East Fort. TRDCL has planted saplings of various tree species as well as flowering shrubs in the median. The overhead power cables which is an eyesore to the area will be shifted to underground. The delay of nearly 9 months in removing the electric posts in the portion has been hindering the beautification project. The work will soon begin. Flex boards that dotted the region for long are being removed to enhance the prominence of the heritage zone.<\/p>\n
Additional bus bay and sign boards<\/h3>\n
An additional bus bay is also being established at the bus terminal at East Fort. It will help to reduce traffic congestion in the area. Number boards and direction signage will be installed with the help of KSRTC. If the rain stays away, TRDCL will start laying of bituminous macadam and bituminous concrete (BM & BC) on road and the work is expected to be completed within a week.<\/p>\n
