As part of the program, many wards were declared clean. However, after a few months, waste began piling up even in wards, which were declared \u2018clean\u2019.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The new civic body is all set to revive the \u2018My City, Beautiful City&#8217; programme.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Hopefully that&#8217;s all going to change. The new civic body is all set to revive the \u2018My City, Beautiful City&#8217; programme. As a first step, civic body will conduct awareness programme about the scheme to its new ward councilors. A workshop for all the 100 councilors is being planned for later this month. The Corporation\u2019s current plan is to install at least two aerobic bins in each ward. However, aerobic bins installed at various locations inside the city failed its objective. Most of the aerobic bins and surroundings areas are filled up with garbage.<\/p>\n<p>Trivandrum Corporation is also coming up with plans to process waste at the source level. For this kitchen bins will be promoted. A kitchen bin works as a miniature form of the existing pipe compost units but uses coir pith (chakiri) mixed with inoculum for composting. The bin, with holes on all sides, can be placed in the kitchen, and biodegradable waste can be dumped in this mixed with the coir pith-inoculum mix.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Trivandrum Corporation is also coming up with plans to process waste at the source level.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Though there has been a sustained campaign to drive home \u2018My City, Beautiful City,\u2019 message, through advertisement campaigns even in theatres in the city, it has not made the desired impact among the public.
